OCCAA is part of an extensive national network of Community Action agencies that believes that every family should have an opportunity for financial independence. Across the United States, Community Action Agencies connect millions of children and families with the tools and resources they need to succeed. OCCAA programs are currently centered around four main areas: food security, utility assistance, emergency home repair, and energy efficiency. OCCAA services empower individuals and families to reach a point where they can assist themselves without public funding.

At Community Action House, we envision a community where all of our neighbors have what they need to thrive, and no one faces challenges alone. Our programs focus on providing area families and individuals with food, clothing, shelter and the opportunity to build the skills necessary to achieve a stable and prosperous life. Through our Financial Wellness programs, we offer personalized coaching and resources on foreclosure prevention, budgeting, saving, first-time home buying, and energy efficiency to empower community members to achieve financial security. By nourishing, equipping, and empowering our neighbors, we’re building a stronger, healthier community together.

Green Projects Group exists to design and implement programs, educate the public, distribute products, and smooth the path towards energy efficiency and electrification. We make green projects easy projects. We are fueled by a passion for sustainability and creating green communities in Michigan. We are currently working with utility rebate programs to provide free & subsidized lighting in Michigan. We offer multiple green programs involving LED lighting upgrades, electrification, home energy education, and more.

Home Energy 101 representatives will be available to answer home energy questions and help attendees sign up for the program. Home Energy 101 participants can be entered into a drawing for a snowblower!

First formed in 2015, Kalamazoo Electric Vehicle Association (KEVA) officially became a chapter of the national Electric Vehicle Association in early 2020. We are a group of electric vehicle enthusiasts now located across southwest Michigan, one of two EVA chapters in our state. Our goal is to help educate the general public about the many benefits of using electric power for transportation, and thus promote the further adoption of electric vehicles in a variety of sectors. We do this with different kinds of outreach, particularly by putting on multiple EV shows annually.

Lakeshore Habitat provides strength, stability, and independence to families in our community through affordable homeownership. We have been operating along the Lakeshore since 1990 and have built 173 homes and completed countless home repair projects in the area. The 3-sixty Tool Library has been creating opportunities for Do-It-Yourself yard care and home repair in and around Holland since 2015. It is a subscription-based, volunteer-run group that receives, circulates and processes tool donations from neighbors for the good of everyone between Chicago, IL and Cheboygan, MI.
