What is Home Energy 101?
Home Energy 101 is a free program through Holland BPW and the Holland Energy Fund that educates homeowners, tenants and landlords while providing free supplies to improve the efficiency and comfort of their home.

Expert Guidance
Work with a trained home energy educator to identify utility savings and efficiency improvements tailored to your home, apartment, or condo.

Free Energy-Saving Supplies
Receive up to $300 worth of free supplies to help lower your energy costs.

Rebate Eligibility
Completing a Home Energy 101 session is a prerequisite for applying for Holland Energy Fund rebates on projects like roof insulation or heating and cooling system upgrades (City of Holland residents only).
Schedule a 60-90 minute in-home session with local nonprofit energy educators to start your journey toward energy efficiency. Home Energy 101 is available to all Holland BPW residential electric customers.
Expert Guidance
To perform free in-home sessions, we partner with the following nonprofit organizations. You may request a specific organization from our list of partners to perform your in-home session. Nonprofits are trained by Holland BPW and Holland Energy Fund in the principles of building energy science. Nonprofits receive a stipend per visit that they conduct with homeowners.

Energy-Saving Supplies
After your in-home session, we will provide you with free energy-saving supplies tailored to your home’s needs. These supplies may include weather stripping, pipe insulation, spray foam, a programmable thermostat and much more
Rebates through Holland Energy Fund
The Holland Energy Fund (HEF) is a nonprofit that supports the City of Holland's Community Energy Plan goals by promoting energy efficiency, sustainability, and conservation. In addition to administering the Home Energy 101 program, HEF also offers Holland Energy Fund Rebates to incentivize energy upgrades, such as insulation, air sealing, and energy-efficient heat pumps and heat pump water heaters to City of Holland residents. In order to receive these additional rebates, Holland BPW residential customers must live in the City of Holland limits and complete Home Energy 101.
