Borrow these materials for your classroom to use for energy and water units in your science class!
You teach the class, we provide the materials! Holland BPW offers classroom sets of educational materials. Most of these items can be used for all age groups and offer a hands on learning experience for energy and water units taught in your classroom.
Watt Meters
Complete a classroom energy audit! Watt meters display voltage, estimated monthly and annual cost, and carbon emissions asscosiated with the device being tested. Classroom set.
IR Thermometers
An infrared (IR) thermometer is a handy tool that allows you to measure the temperature of objects without making any contact. This is particularly useful in classroom settings for various science experiments and activities. The IR thermometer works by detecting the infrared radiation emitted by an object and converting it into a temperature reading. This makes it ideal for measuring the temperature of surfaces that are difficult to reach or too hot to touch. In the classroom, IR thermometers can be used for a variety of educational purposes, such as:
- Science Experiments: Measure the temperature of different materials to understand heat transfer and insulation properties.
- Environmental Studies: Monitor the temperature of various surfaces in and around the classroom to study the effects of sunlight and shade.
Drinking Water/Waste Water Enviroscape Model
Trace the path of the human water cycle using a hands-on Drinking Water, Wasterwater and Watershed Enviroscape Model. This teaching model is appropriate for all ages ad comes with an extensice teaching guide.
NEED Science of Energy Kit
Introduce energy using NEED's Science of Energy kit. Students will complete hands-on experiment stations that focus on energy transformations, kinetic and potential energy, motors, batteries, electromagnetism, heat, and light.
A similar kit is available for kindergarten-lower elementary students.
This kit is designed for all grade levels. Teachers can download the teacher and student guides for free online through the NEED shop.
