Panel Upgrade and Load Management Device

Customers must upsize their panel service capacity to a minimum of 200 amp service or install a UL-listed and hard-wired load management device for a specific circuit. To receive the rebate, customers must also add a Level 2 EV charger or at least one 240V appliance that was converted from gas to electric. A licensed electrician must complete the work. Qualifying equipment must be installed within one year of the upgrade to qualify for the rebate.

EV Level 2 Charger

Qualifying Level 2 (240-volt) EV chargers must be new, unused, certified by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL Listed), and ETL Listed. EV chargers must be wall mounted. Portable chargers do not qualify unless a 240-volt circuit was added within one year of the time of purchase of the portable charger solely for the purpose of the portable charger. If a 240-volt circuit is added (to a garage for example) to accommodate a Level 2, 240-volt charger that is portable, then the charger qualifies for a rebate. All permits necessary must be obtained prior to the EV charger installation.

Program participants must participate in Holland BPW’s Electric Vehicle Whole House Time-of-Use rate for one year in order to qualify.
